Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 12, 2026

Introduction

Trackwallet ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") on Android or iOS. The App is developed and maintained by Augustinas Abromavičius, an independent developer based in Lithuania, European Union.

By downloading or using Trackwallet, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you use Trackwallet, you manually enter financial information including:

  • Transaction details (amounts, dates, descriptions, categories, merchant names)
  • Account information (account names, balances, types)
  • Budget data (budget amounts, categories, time periods)
  • Subscription and recurring payment information
  • Notes and custom categories
  • Currency preferences
  • Email address (only if you choose to create an optional account for cloud backup)

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

To maintain stability and process subscriptions, we collect limited technical information through the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports, device state at time of crash, operating system version, app version, and technical diagnostic data. No financial data is included in crash reports.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription status, purchase history, and a pseudonymous user identifier used to manage and restore your premium access. RevenueCat does not receive your financial tracking data.

We do not use any analytics SDKs. We do not track your usage patterns, sessions, or in-app behaviour beyond what is strictly necessary for crash reporting and subscription management.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: To provide core money management features including expense tracking, budget management, and financial reporting
  • Optional Cloud Backup: To enable backup and restore of your financial data via Firebase Storage, only if you create an account and explicitly choose to back up
  • Authentication: To verify your identity when you use the optional account feature
  • Crash Fixes: To identify and fix technical issues that affect app stability
  • Subscription Management: To verify, restore, and manage your premium access across devices
  • Technical Support: To respond to your support requests and troubleshoot issues

3. Account Creation and Sign-In

Creating an account is entirely optional. The App works fully offline without one. If you choose to create an account to enable cloud backup, the following sign-in options are available depending on your platform:

  • Email and Password — available on Android and iOS
  • Sign in with Google — available on Android and iOS
  • Sign in with Apple — available on iOS only

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we only receive the basic profile information those services share (typically your name and email address). We do not receive your Google or Apple account password. Authentication is handled securely by Firebase Authentication.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage (Primary)

Your financial data is stored locally on your device by default. The App is designed to work completely offline, and your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to use the optional cloud backup feature. Local data is protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms, including hardware-level encryption on modern Android and iOS devices.

4.2 Optional Cloud Backup

If you create an account and choose to back up your data, this applies equally on both Android and iOS:

  • Backups are stored in Firebase Storage (Google Cloud infrastructure)
  • Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
  • You control when backups occur and can delete them at any time
  • You can restore your data on any supported device by signing into your account

4.3 Security Measures

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS protocols
  • Local data protected by Android and iOS platform security features
  • Firebase Authentication for secure account access

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

Trackwallet uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): Handles secure sign-in — Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Crash reporting and diagnostics — Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Storage (Google): Cloud backup storage (optional, account required) — Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management — Privacy Policy
  • Google Play Billing (Android only): Payment processing — Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit (iOS only): Payment processing — Privacy Policy

We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your data to any third party.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Your financial data remains private and is only shared in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We may share information if you explicitly authorise us to do so
  • Service Providers: Firebase and RevenueCat process limited data on our behalf as described above
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request
  • Safety and Security: We may share information to protect rights, property, or public safety

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Control

  • Local Data: All your financial data is accessible within the App at any time
  • Export Data: You can export your data from the App for personal use
  • Offline Use: You can use the App entirely offline without creating an account

7.2 Account Deletion

If you have created an account, you can delete it in two ways:

  • In-App: Go to account settings and use the account deletion option
  • By Email: Contact us at contact@trackwallet.app

Upon deletion, your account and all associated cloud backup data are permanently deleted. Local data on your device must be removed manually by uninstalling the App or clearing app data.

7.3 App Permissions

The App may request the following permissions, all of which are optional:

  • Internet Access: Required for optional cloud backup, Firebase services, and subscription management. The App works fully offline without granting this.
  • Notifications: To send you reminders and budget alerts based on your preferences. You will be asked before this permission is granted and can revoke it at any time in your device settings.

8. Data Retention

  • Local Data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data
  • Cloud Backups: Stored in Firebase Storage until you delete your account or remove the backup manually
  • Account Data: Permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion request
  • Crash Reports: Firebase Crashlytics data is retained according to Google's retention policies (typically up to 90 days)
  • Subscription Data: RevenueCat retains anonymised purchase records as required to manage subscriptions and comply with applicable laws

9. Children's Privacy

Trackwallet is a personal finance tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children. In line with applicable law, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (European Union / GDPR) or under 13 (United States / COPPA). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@trackwallet.app and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Trackwallet is available worldwide. We are based in Lithuania, European Union. If you use the optional cloud backup feature, your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure, which may be located outside your country of residence.

Google Cloud complies with international data protection standards including GDPR. By using the cloud backup feature, you consent to this transfer. If you prefer to keep your data entirely local, simply do not create an account — the App functions fully without one.

11. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR and Other Laws)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive privacy laws, you have the following rights:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Right to Object: Object to certain processing of your data
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we process your data
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@trackwallet.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30 days).

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For changes that materially affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App.

Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
